ロマネコンティ共同経営者のオベールとハイド ヴィンヤードのラリーのコラボ！ 「パリスの審判」に審査員として立会い、カリフォルニアワインの可能性をいち早く知ったドメーヌ・ド・ラ・ロマネ・コンティの共同経営者であるオベール・ド・ヴィレーヌ。そして、「キスラー」、「パッツ&ホール」などの名だたるワイン生産者へもブドウを供給してきた「ハイド・ヴィンヤード」のラリー・ハイド。ド・ヴィレーヌの妻となった、パメラがハイドの従姉妹にあたることから、2000年に二人のパートナーシップが成立しました。2002年からはステファン・ヴィヴィアーが醸造責任者を務め、ブルゴーニュの造りと、ナパ・ヴァレーのテロワールの融合を実現しています。 「カリフォルニオ シラー」は、約1.2haの畑。1本の枝に一房のみ残すという徹底した収量制限により、 ワインに凝縮感を持たせます。半分をオープントップのタンクで、残りを密閉したタンクで発酵。濾過無しで瓶詰め。 ブルーベリーやブラックチェリーなどのベリー系果実やコショウやシナモンなどのスパイス、チョコレートなど様々な香りに溢れています。溶け込んだタンニンの口当たりが滑らかでボリュームのある味わいです。 HYDE DE VILLAINE CALIFORNIO SYRAH ハイド・ド・ヴィレーヌ カリフォルニオ シラー 生産国：アメリカ カリフォルニア ノース・コースト 原産地呼称：AVA. Ripe red cherry, plum, chocolate, leather and licorice open first, followed by more typical Syrah notes of black pepper, game, tobacco, incense and leather that add a striking upper register. The 2018 was done entirely with destemmed fruit, yet it has plenty of savory energy. Blackcurrants, plums and blueberries are accented by touches of violet, coffee bean, potting soil and cast iron on the nose. The medium-bodied palate is granular and lifted, with ringing violet perfume and a very long, layered finish. It's stunning straight from bottle (and highly drinkable at just 13.9% alcohol), but it offers the concentration and freshness to develop savory complexity in the cellar over the next decade or more.

Crushed red/purplish berry fruit, lavender, rose petal and spice all soar out of the glass. Effusive and silky, with tremendous presence, the Ygnacia is a real charmer. An explosion of sweet red cherry, plum, lavender, mint, rose petal and cinnamon bursts out of the glass in this exuberant Pinot. The 2017 is decidedly racy, and yet it is also so delicious and so irresistible, that readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off.
