欧米でその名を知らぬ者はいないと言われる名ドメーヌ「ピエール・ペテルス」。その歴史は1858年にガスパール・ペテルス氏が、ぶどう栽培農家の娘ドゥエ女史と結婚したことによりブドウ栽培家として創業したことに始まります。その後、1919年にシャンパーニュ造りを開始し、1946年に当時の当主であったピエール氏がドメーヌ名を自身の名前に変更しました。

2007年よりロドルフ・ペテルス氏が新しい時代を担っています。コンサルタントなどの仕事も経験した彼は、幅広い視野でこのドメーヌをより大きく成長させることを大いに期待されている、有望な若手醸造家。また叔父はヴーヴ・クリコの元醸造長であるジャック・ペテルス氏で、現在はブレンディングを担当しています。 ワイナリーはル・メニル・シュール・オジェに位置し、19haのブドウ畑を所有。健康なブドウを栽培するために、環境に配慮し、毎年異なる条件の中でアプローチの仕方を適応させています。

「ピエール・ペテルス レ・シェティヨン エノテーク ブリュット ブラン・ド・ブラン グラン・クリュ」は、クロ・デュ・メニルと双璧を成すメニル・シュール・オジェ村の単一畑。ペテルスを語るうえで外せないのは、クリュッグの「クロ・デ・メニル」と双璧を成す、もう一つの「メニルの単一畑」レ・シェティヨン。「シャンパーニュの最も美しい作品の一つ」と表されるこの畑からは、「最も心に残るシャンパーニュ」と言われる特別なシャンパーニュが造り出されます。メニルの素晴らしいテロワールと、曽祖父から大切に引き継いできた優良なシャルドネのクローンを45種も栽培しているというこだわりの彼が生み出す複雑味と奥行きが生まれる特別なシャンパーニュ。僅か1.2haから生み出される、唯一無二の味わいを是非ご堪能下さい。

シャルドネ100%。グラン・クリュ100%のル・メニルの単一畑の中でも最も評価の高いシェテイヨン。メニルの素晴らしいテロワールと曽祖父から大切に引き継いできた45種のシャルドネが合わさり、1つの複雑味と奥行きを生む。

キュヴェ100%。ドサージュ3g/以下。気圧5.5～6kg/cm2 瓶熟成72～96ヶ月。樹齢約60年。このシャンパーニュは、ペテルス曰く「家族への想い」。

レ・シェティヨンはメニルから生まれる最良のブラン・ド・ブランの1つ。グローワーが詰めた最も古い単一畑の1つでもある。2.5haに3区画がある。1930年に畑を取得。最も古い樹は1936年に植えたもので、マッサール・セレクションによって増やしてきた。3区画は別々に醸造され、ブレンドされる。こちらも50%は「キュヴェ・ド・レゼルヴ」に回される。1971年、スペシャルクラブとして最初は仕込んだが、2000年に「キュヴェ・スペシャル」の名をラベルにつけた。ワインレポート山本昭彦氏

The 2004 Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvee Speciale Les Chetillons was showing especially well in this tasting, soaring from the glass with aromas of dried citrus fruits, oyster shell, wheat toast and plenty of nutty, smoky autolytic top notes. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and impressively muscular and concentrated for the vintage, with chalky dry extract and a long, searingly mineral finish. While this is a racy Chetillon, the magic of bottle age means that it is also becoming quite rich and enveloping, without losing its wonderfully incisive Mesnil backbone. Published: Aug 31, 2019

The 2004 Brut Millesime Cuvee Speciale Les Chetillons is stratospheric. This is a cool, inward Chetillons endowed with breathtaking finesse. The 2004 is noticeably more vibrant and focused than the decidedly exuberant 2002. Ripe pears, almonds and jasmine are some of the notes that flesh out in this pure, energetic wine. Hints of chalk, smoke and ash wrap around the intense finish. This is easily one of the very finest of the 2004s that has been released so far. Peters' objective with Les Chetillons is to make wine that expresses terroir rather than vintage. In 2004 Peters used only two of his three plots in Les Chetillons, as he wasn't totally happy with the way one of the parcels responded in terms of the high yields that were typical that year.
