オーナーのジョシュ氏の父の名に因む、「ジェンセン・ヴィンヤード」

2010年はカレラの35周年記念ヴィンテージとなり、ラベルには、黄金カラーで Thirty Fifth Anniversary Vintage と記載されています。

オーナーのジョシュ氏の父の名に因む、「ジェンセン・ヴィンヤード」は、1975年に植樹され、1978年にはじめての収穫を迎えています。樹齢30年以上のぶどうから造られる、申し分のないバランス、リッチさ、丸みを兼ね備えた長期熟成向けのワイン。ブラインド・テイスティングで、ブルゴーニュのトップドメーヌの造るグラン・クリュを上回る評価を受けています。カリフォルニアのロマネ・コンティと言われています。

ジャンセン・ヴィンヤードからは、ブラック・ベリーやラズベリー、イチゴジャムの大変美味しい親しみの湧く芳香と風味の開放的な魅力に溢れ、非の打ち所のないバランス、芳醇さ、丸みを備えた長命でワクワクするようなワインが生まれています。

■AVA Mt. Harlanについて■
この一帯にワイナリーを構えているのはカレラだけにもかかわらず、あまりの品質の高さからカレラのための唯一の原産地呼称「マウント・ハーラン・AVA」が1990年に認められることになりました。

More rich and structured, yet still sexy and voluptuous, the 2010 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard offers up a complex array of underbrush, black cherry, framboise, crushed flowers, toast and spice on both the nose and palate. Easily one of the most impressive Pinot Noirs I’ve tasted from California, this ethereally textured, tannic effort should be given 3-4 years of bottle age and then consumed over the following decade or more. Drink 2016-2026.

Open, voluptuous and sexy efforts, these all benefitted from substantial air time and gained richness and depth over the evening. They’re brilliant Pinot Noirs.
