ヴォーヌ・ロマネ最高峰の造り手リジェ・ベレール子爵の従弟の従弟にあたる、ティボー・リジェ・ベレール！

ティボーは大学で醸造学を学んだ後、2002年にこの地の宝石とも言える素晴らしい畑を両親から財産として相続すると同時に、ドメーヌを立ち上げました。ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュの中でも著名であり樹齢は60年を越えた一級畑“レ・サン・ジョルジュ”2ヘクタールを所有。栽培は当初からビオロジックを実践し、近年ではビオディナミを取り入れ、天文学による醸造のタイミング、馬での耕作、低収量、限られたSO2の使用など徹底し、果実味を生かすために新樽率を控えめにしています。

「リシュブール グラン・クリュ」は、ヴォーヌ・ロマネ丘陵中腹にあり、特級畑ロマネ・コンティや特級畑ロマネ・サン・ヴィヴィアンと小道一本によって分けらています。斜面は総じて東向きで、30cm以下のわずかな表土の上ということもあり、ブドウの根が基盤層の深くまで這っているため、複雑なテロワールの要素が味わいの魅力へとつながっています。

甘い果実の香りが優しいオークのスパイスと共に広がります。タンニンは極めて繊細で、素晴らしい層なり余韻長く続きます。フィニッシュは長く卓越した調和をなしています。ちなみにティボーのリシュブールはDRCの隣の畝です。

Liger-Belair owns 0.5ha, planted in 1936 just above DRC in the lower part of Les Richebourg. Initially somewhat reserved, this wine opened in the glass to reveal lush, plummy fruit and a savoury, smoky element and mineral notes. It is only with time that one realises the depth and strength of the tannins, so richly are they enrobed. An immense finish lingers long after you have finished. Superb. Drinking Window 2029 - 2049. 30% whole bunch. Imperial purple. Thibault felt able to go a bit further with his Richebourg in 2019, giving it a couple or three punchdowns at the end, which releases more sugar so as to keep the fermentation going for an extra week. Really quite gorgeous depth of aromatics. Peonies. Plump more than precise. Very suave and sensual right across the palate, slightly more at front than back, that very light astringency to finish, maybe the punching down. A little liquorice touch too. Finishes very well. This is going to be at least a very good Richebourg - and maybe more. Tasted: November 2020

The 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru is matured with 35% whole bunch, and five of the six barrels are new. It has a very perfumed bouquet of floral red berry fruit laced with crushed rock and sous-bois scents. The palate is medium-bodied with solid tannins, more savory than, say, Grivot's Richebourg, with liberally sprinkled cracked black pepper toward the finish.
