1988年、イタリア人のグスタフ・ダラ・ヴァレ氏と兵庫県出身の日本人のナオコ女史の娘の名をとった畑 “マヤ”から、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンとカベルネ・フランのブレンドによるスーパープレミアムワインが 誕生しました。 銘柄名も“マヤ”と名付けられ、1992年、2002年、2013年、2016年の4度にわたりロバート・パーカー氏が 100点を献上する等、今に至るまで最高級の評価を受け続けています。しかも1992年のパーカー100点は 「アメリカ産ワイン史上初の快挙」として、アメリカ・ワインの歴史に刻まれることとなりました。 創設者グスタフ氏は1995年に他界しましたが、ダラ・ヴァレ・ヴィンヤーズの伝統と品質は未亡人の ナオコ女史に引き継がれ、素晴らしいワインが作られ続けています。 セパージュ：カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン 60% / カベルネ・フラン 40% ワインアドヴォケイト誌：100点 / ジェブ・ダナック氏：100点 ジェームズ・サックリング氏：98点 / ヴィノス誌：98点 / ワインスペクテーター誌：96点

Deep garnet-purple colored, it's a little reserved to begin, soon unfurling to reveal the most incredible array of floral and red fruit layers-kirsch, redcurrant jelly, black raspberries, lilacs, red roses and lavender-with achingly beautiful wafts of cigar box, pencil lead, camphor, cinnamon stick and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and with fabulous elegance and poise in the mouth, the palate delivers layer upon layer of perfumed black and red fruits with a very firm, finely grained texture and an epically long, mineral-laced finish. Give this knock-out beauty another 5 years in the cellar and drink it over the next 30+. Drink or hold VINOUS：98+ ポイント Drinking Widow: 2024- 2041 Review Date: Jan 2020 The most reticent of the 2016s, Maya is going to need at least a few years in bottle to be at its best, and even that may not be enough. Today, the bright red fruit and soaring aromatics of the Cabernet Franc are especially evident. I have no doubt the 2016 will be spectacular when it opens up, but that is going to take at least a few years. Parker, Jr. 96 Drink: 2015-2035 $324 The 2005 Proprietary Maya, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, is one of the first wines in Napa to showcase the brilliance of Cabernet Franc grown in selected microclimates. (I recall the 1971 Robert Mondavi Reserve, which had healthy doses of Cabernet Franc and first raised the potential of this grape in Napa.) Many vintages of Maya have had much more Cabernet Franc than this particular one, but the 2005 Maya has a beautiful, dense ruby/purple color, a youthful, but extremely promising bouquet of forest floor, spring flora, blueberry, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, medium to full body (14.5% alcohol), an almost skyscraper texture, and a long, long finish of close to 40+ seconds. This is a stunner that is still remarkably youthful at age ten. This has turned out to be one of the superstars of a very impressive vintage.
