「王のワイン、ワインの王」として愛される、格付け第2級シャトー。 エチケットに堂々と「王のワイン、ワインの王」と記されているとおり、1855年の格付け当時、第一級シャトーに次いで取引価格が高かったのが、グリュオ・ラローズだったというのは有名な話です。「現在でも愛されている第2級格付けのひとつ」と称されています。サン・ジュリアンはポイヤックとマルゴーに挟まれた土地柄、両者の中庸的なスタイルと説明されることが多いですが、そのサン・ジュリアンの美点を余すところなく表現しているのがこのシャトーです。また、第二級シャトーの中で最大級の生産量を誇り、年によって品質にムラがなく、安心して買えるというのも魅力です。 「シャトー・グリュオ・ラローズ」は、ブドウを収穫後、約24～29℃に温度管理された木樽とセメントタンクで20～30日間発酵。果汁を圧搾後、新樽を用いたフレンチオーク樽で約18～24ヵ月間熟成します。凝縮された果実味がたっぷり味わえるのは勿論のこと、熟成するほどに濃密さは増し、タンニンもこなれ、柔かいビロードのような舌触りを楽しめます。 重厚さが特徴的な造りになっており、豊かなタンニンが熟成能力の高さを物語っています。艶やかさよりも、能ある鷹は爪を隠す…的な印象を強く受けるワインかもしれません。 CHATEAU GRUAUD LAROSE シャトー・グリュオ・ラローズ 生産地：フランス ボルドー サン・ジュリアン 原産地呼称：AOC. Red fruit, cedar, leather, tobacco, smoke and dried herbs reveal themselves with some coaxing. Imposing tannins and some slightly rough contours suggest cellaring is a must.
