ドゥーツは本拠地アイ村の単一畑のピノ・ノワールのみで仕込んだオマージュ・ア・ウィリアム・ドゥーツは2010年が初ヴィンテージで、アイ村のメゾンに隣接する最良区画のラ・コート・グラシエとミュルテットをブレンドして造られています。2012年はそれぞれの区画を別々に仕込みました。

ラ・コート・グラシエは険しい斜面の理想的な日当たりで、豊かさとおおらかさがある。ミュルテットはやや東向きで、フィネスと正確さがある。創業180周年の2018年をお祝いするスペシャル・キュヴェ！

Unwinding in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of crisp green and yellow orchard fruit mingled with hints of praline, nougat and white flowers, the 2012 Brut Blanc de Noir Parcelle d'Ay La Cote Glaciere Hommage a William Deutz is medium to full-bodied, deep and tightly wound, with racy acids, good concentration and promising structuring extract, concluding with a penetrating finish. This is the more austere and mineral of Deutz's two "Hommage" cuvees this year, and it is built for the cellar.

The 2012 Brut Millesime William Deutz La Cote Glaciere is fascinating to taste next to the Meurtet. A more airy and floral expression of Pinot from Ay emerges from the La Cote Glaciere. White flowers, mint, white pepper, chalk, citrus and red plum all grace this super-expressive and inviting Champagne from Deutz. Bright saline notes punctuate the taut finish. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2012 is incredibly persistent and sculpted from start to finish.
