      レオヴィル三兄弟とも呼ばれるグラン・クリュ第2級のシャトー。 メドック格付け2級。ポワフェレ男爵がラス カーズ家との婚姻により取得し、この名が付きました。レオヴィル三兄弟と呼ばれ、格付けシャトーの中でも人気の高いワインです。80haを所有し、3つのレオヴィルの中でも特に多様な土壌に恵まれています。他二つにくらべメルロの比率が高く、その分早くから楽しめる傾向があります。 シャトー・レオヴィルの歴史は1638年まで遡ります。いく度の遺産分割・相続をへて、1840年現在のレオヴィル・ポワフェレが誕生。1855年にはメドックのワインを対象とした格付が作成され、ポワフェレは栄えある第2級の認定を受けました。ほまれ高きアペラシオン・サンジュリアンに位置し、多様な礫質のテロワールを有するそのブドウ畑からは、芳醇かつ複雑な味わいのワインが生まれます。1920年、現オーナーであるキュヴリエ家がシャトー・レオヴィル・ポワフェレ(58ヘクタール)およびシャトー・ムーラン・リッシュ(22ヘクタール)の所有権を取得しました。ポワフェレの畑は現在80haに広がっています。しなやかなタンニンをふくみ、若い段階から親しみやすく、サンジュリアン特有のバランスとエレガンスは健在です。 豊かなブーケ、バランスのとれた味わいが評判で特に2019ヴィンテージは華やかな果実味が印象的です。夏が非常に暑く乾燥していた年の特徴を反映し、凝縮した果実味が印象的。口当たりはなめらかで洗練された印象があり、口に含むと多様な果物の香り、味わいが広がります。 CHATEAU LEOVILLE POYFERRE シャトー・レオヴィル・ポワフェレ 生産地：フランス ボルドー サン・ジュリアン 原産地呼称：AOC. Bright red cherry/plum fruit, blood orange, mint, spice and menthol fill out the layers with effortless grace. In some tastings, the 2019 has come across as quite powerful, while in other moments it shows greater finesse. Either way, the 2019 is positively stunning. Full-bodied, velvety and polished, it's broad and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, ripe tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a long, precise finish. Invariably the most sumptuous of the three Leovilles, featuring some 35% Merlot, the 2019 is a terrific effort that will offer a wide drinking window. With some 80 hectares under vine, Leoville Poyferre's parcels are inter-fingered with those belonging to the Delon and Barton families by the river and on the plateau of Saint-Julien. The soils are cultivated less frequently and less deeply these days, and conversion to organic methods is gradually being rolled out, parcel by parcel, some being easier to farm this way than others. Winemaking features a five- to eight-day cold soak, followed by comparatively long macerations, and maturation is in 80% new oak, with lots destined for new barrels completing their malolactic fermentation in barrel. Combined with an elevated percentage of Merlot in the vineyards (though the tendency here, as elsewhere, is to replant with more Cabernet Sauvignon), this delivers the richest, fleshiest, most flamboyant of the three Leoville estates, but while it's generally the most open out of the gates of the three, that hasn't come at the expense of longevity.
