The blend is two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Maya slowly unfurls to reveal a firework display of redcurrant preserves, kirsch, boysenberries and wild blueberries, followed by iron ore, red roses, cardamom, fallen leaves and crushed rocks, with a waft of pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is stunningly graceful and refined, featuring exhilarating mineral sparks among the red and black fruits, finishing with so much brightness and energy. Breathtaking! ジェブ・ダナック：100 ポイント One of the finest wines in the vintage is the 2019 Maya Proprietary Red Wine and red wine doesn't get any better. The usual blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc its deep purple hue is followed by an incredible bouquet of blackcurrants tobacco dark chocolate and crushed stone which turns more floral pretty and complex with time in the glass. Full-bodied on the palate it marries a rare sense of elegance and finesse with incredible intensity. It's impossible to resist today yet merits at least 5-7 years of bottle age and I have no doubt this beauty will still be enjoyable at age 50. Bravo!

The 2010 Hermitage Ex Voto continues to top out on my scale. This extraordinary Hermitage has more minerality and delineation than the 2009, as well as overflowing aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, jammy blackberries, violets, graphite and wood smoke. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the 2010 Hermitage Ex Voto is as good as it gets. It this beauty doesn’t make fireworks go off in your head, I don’t know what will. Full-bodied, deeply concentrated and structured, yet also fine, elegant and delineated, it is nothing short of incredible. Give this awesome Hermitage 5-6 years in the cellar and feel free to drink it anytime over the following 4-5 decades. The father/son team of Marcel and Philippe Guigal continue to keep their estate at the top of the hierarchy in the Rhone Valley. All the way from their inexpensive Cotes du Rhone to their top-end Cote Roties and Hermtiage, the attention to detail and focus on quality is unmatched. The oak is wonderfully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a cashmere texture and lavish new oak that is perfectly knitted to the filigree tannins. Very precise and very persistent on the finish, this fans out gloriously, Jean-Philippe Delmas conjured a sensational La Mission this year. Dark, rich and sensual, the Vite Talin captures all of the natural richness of the heavily virused, low-yielding clone the Sandrone family propagated in their parcels within Le Coste and Rivasi, both in Barolo. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, cedar, tobacco and kirsch are all dialed up in this explosive, heady Barolo. The 2017 is just next-level wine. Superb. - By Antonio Galloni on November 2022 Sandrone was the first stop on my trip for this report. Maybe there was some sort of meaning to that. I learned of Luciano Sandrone's passing just as we are going to press. To say Sandrone was a titan of Barolo is a massive understatement. Sandrone defined an entire generation of Barolo growers. With all due respect to his contemporaries, Sandrone did several things none of them did. First, he created an estate from nothing, with no inherited land, but rather with a vineyard he and his wife Mariuccia purchased. Sandrone almost immediately found remarkable balance, crafting Barolos that were decidedly modern in style and appealed to wine lovers reared on the classics. The 1989 and especially 1990 Cannubi Boschis were among his first iconic wines. Last and maybe most importantly, Sandrone was the only grower of his generation to create a winery and was able to climb the ranks and become part of Piedmont's elite, that small group of historic, family-run estates whose wines are highly sought in the secondary market. I tasted these new releases with Sandrone's brother Luca, daughter Barbara and granddaughter Alessia, who represents the next generation. All three wines were spectacular both at the estate and in my office in New York a few weeks later. Luca Sandrone described 2019 as a year with heavy rains in the winter but no extremes during the growing season. Harvest for the Nebbiolo ran from October 9 through 18, starting with Villero and finishing with Le Coste. On that subject, 2019 is the first vintage of Le Vigne that incorporates fruit from Le Coste in the blend. The Aleste and Le Vigne were in tonneau by November, where they finished the malolactic fermentations. Total time in wood was 20-22 months. The Vite Talin follows a different protocol. It was fermented in wood and saw an extended submerge cap fermentation. It spent two years in tonneau and a year in cask. The 2017 is magical.

There is simply nothing like a great Cheval in all of Bordeaux. Soaring aromatics are immediately alluring. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, cinnamon, espresso and dried herbs build in a Cheval that possesses tremendous layers and exceptional balance. Clean, mineral notes lend tension and drive. The 2019 is a bit strict today and not ready to show all its cards, but it is very clearly a special, special wine in the making. In 2019, the Grand Vin represents 82.5% of the estate's production, a very high amount by any measure. I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. The grapes for the 2019 vintage-73% Garnacha, 26% Carinena and 1% white grapes (Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo and Pedro Ximenez)-were picked between October 11th and 14th. The wine is close to 15% alcohol but has a low pH (freshness) from fermenting with 30% whole bunches in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and maturing in French oak casks for 14 months. Contrary to what I saw in many 2019s, this is higher in Carinena than ever, but the grapes were all co-fermented in two 1,000-liter oak vats, and there is perfect integration of the varieties. There was an incredible richness of aromas here, perfumed, intoxicating and showy, an extroverted vintage, with a deeper voice than the 2018. There is incredible precision and finesse here, subtleness and elegance. The wine is compact, seamless and with incredible balance. It's both powerful and elegant, and there is energy and light, symmetry and clout. There are layers and layers here, with a spherical core, fresh and agile, all the things a great wine should have. It has an endless finish. Amazing! 2,070 bottles were filled in May 2021. Climate is certainly getting extreme, and in Priorat, we saw an incredibly warm (up to 43 degrees Celsius!) and dry 2019 (with only 280 liters of rain) and a 2020 with 800 liters of rain! But so much rain and the warm temperatures can only end up in a huge mildew attack. The rest of the season was extremely warm, to the point that ended it up being their earliest harvest ever! Year of extremes... year in and year out! Both years were higher in Garnacha and lower in Carinena, in 2019 because of the heat and in 2020 because of mildew. So, the wines are more Garnacha driven than ever. For Alvaro Palacios, the highlights of the 2019 vintage (I only tasted Camins from 2020) were the Finca Dof? and L'Ermita. The Dof? was classy, elegant and fresh with very clean aromas and flavors, but L'Ermita was truly captivating, quite different from the 2013, an extreme year, perhaps in an opposite way but truly exceptional. It deserved my highest rating, as my heart started beating faster as I put my nose in the glass. The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is another prodigious version of this wine. How many wines in this world can be so huge yet so lacking the feeling of weight? There's plenty of layered spice but also a core of raspberries; rich tannins, yet no real astringency; and a long finish without any apparent heat. Wow! According to Marc Perrin, "2016 has this extra balance that really makes it unique." But I would point out that the 2015s at this historic property are also top notch. The family continues to espouse the use of foudres for most of their wines, feeling, says Marc, "We have high levels of tannins already." If you count all of the holdings outside Chateauneuf, the family owns probably the single largest vineyard estate in the Southern Rhone, with 350 hectares being farmed organically. Deftly blends richness and vivacity and finishes spicy, focused and extremely long; pliant tannins add shape and closing grip. - By Josh Raynolds on December 2016 Marc Perrin told me that he feels blessed that his family’s 100 acres of vines are planted to such a diverse array of varieties, especially Mourvedre, since so many recent vintages have suffered short Grenache crops and many of his neighbors’ production levels have been way off in years like 2014 and 2013. In those vintages spring frosts and hail caused often sever damage to the early-ripening Grenache fruit so it was a big advantage to have later-ripening varieties to compensate for a smaller-than-normal harvest, he told me. Mourvedre is also a great variety to use to bring structure to Chateauneuf-du-Papes made in hot vintages, when the Grenache’s ripeness can sore and the resulting wines run the risk of coming off flabby. That’s clearly the case with the 2015s here as the wines possess more firmness than other examples from the region, which means that they should age very well, which is always a hallmark of this iconic estate. The 1989, from another hot vintage, like 2015, is drinking fabulously right now, and it shows no sign of falling apart any time soon.

    ビオディナミの伝道師として知られるニコラ・ジョリーのフラッグシップワイン！ クレ・ド・セランはシトー派修道僧により12世紀に植えられた由緒ある畑で、以来800年以上もの間ブドウ栽培が行われています。1962年からジョリー家が所有し、1976年に現当主であるニコラ・ジョリーが運営に参加。ジョリーは「美味しいワインである前に、その土地固有の繊細さを表現した本物のワインでなくてはならない」と、1980年から部分的にビオディナミを導入し、1984年からすべての畑でビオディナミを行っています。 2001年、同氏はビオディナミの団体「Return to Terroir」を創立、12カ国、約150生産者がこの団体に所属しています。また、彼はこの団体を通し、世界中で講演し、原点へ回帰を提唱しています。2002年から娘のヴィルジニーもワイナリーに参加。近年、息子のヴァンサンも加わり、家族でニコラの意思を引継いでいます。 「クロ・ド・ラ・クレ・ド・セラン」は、1130年にシトー派修道院によって拓かれた由緒あるブドウ畑。7haの全てをジョリー家が単独所有。栽培、収穫はすべて馬と手作業で行なわれます。平均樹齢45-50年。規定の約半分の18-25hl/haの低収量。 熟した果実、ドライフルーツ、カリンのようなニュアンス、もう一口飲みたくなるようなミネラルを思わせる味わい。和食との相性がいいワインです。数時間前、前日抜栓、もしくはデキャンタするのがオススメです。 ■よりおいしく味わっていただくために■ ニコラはクロ・ド・ラ・クレド・セランについて、事前の抜栓もしくはデキャンティングを推奨 ●始めの5年：24時間前に抜栓もしくは2時間前にダブルデキャンティング ●5～10年：12時間前に抜栓もしくは2時間前にデキャンティング ●10年以上：2時間前抜栓もしくは直前にデキャンティング 適温は14～15度。更に、飲み残しのワインを、栓をして冷蔵庫に入れずに3～4日置くと、一層開いて味わいが増して楽しめるともアドバイスしている。 ■テクニカル情報■ AOP：サヴニエール(クレ・ド・セランモノポール) 品種：シュナン・ブラン100% 面積：7ha 平均樹齢：45～50年(80年以上の古樹も含む) 平均収量：20hl/ha ロワール川に張り出した険しい傾斜地の南、南東向き畑。地層は平均20～40cmの深さ、赤褐色・茶色のシスト片岩とクオーツ石英土壌で水はけが良い。ブドウが最適な熟度に達し、ボトリティスの度合いを見て収穫するため、通常は3～4週間かけて5回に分けて収穫を行う。 NICOLAS JOLY CLOS DE LA COULEE DE SERRANT ニコラ・ジョリー クロ・ド・ラ・クレ・ド・セラン 生産地：フランス ロワール アンジュー・ソーミュール 原産地呼称：AOC.
