ラファエル・パラシオスで最も樹齢の高いゴデーリョから造られる、洗練された白ワイン！ スペインで最も刺激的な産地バルデオラス（ガリシア州オウレンセ県）でスペイン最高の白ワインを手がけるラファエル・パラシオス。名門パラシオス・レモンドの出身で、プリオラート伝説のワイン“レルミタ”の生みの親であり、2016年のワインメーカー・オブ・ザ・イヤーに輝いたアルバロ・パラシオスの実弟でもあるラファエルは、バルデオラスの土着品種、ゴデーリョのポテンシャルに注目、2004年からビベイ渓谷周辺で《スペイン最高の白ワインを造る…》という一大プロジェクトに心血を注ぎ、錚々たる評論家たちに“衝撃の味わい”と言わしめる白ワインを送り続けている。 「アス・ソルテス」は、ラファエル・パラシオスで最も樹齢の高いゴデーリョを使用。花崗岩の土壌がミネラルと塩味を備えた引き締まった味わいを生みます。ワイン名は、ガリシア語で小さな区画の集まりを意味する「ソルテ」にちなんでいます。 ■2023年ヴィンテージ情報■ ラファエル・パラシオス自身も品質を絶賛するヴィンテージ。 2023年は典型的な涼しい年であり、その特徴はワインの品質に如実に表れている。降雨量もあり、夏の気温も穏やかだったため、香りとフェノール成分の成熟が良好。さらに、このヴィンテージの酸の骨格がそれを引き立て、非常に完成度が高くエレガントな仕上がりとなっている。過去10年で最高とは言わないまでも、間違いなく最高峰のヴィンテージの一つに挙げられる。 ■テクニカル情報■ 産地：スペイン/ガリシア州/バル・ド・ビベイ、サンタ・クルス・ド・ボロ （DO バルデオラス）、品種：ゴデーリョ、平均樹齢：40年以上、標高：680ｍ以上、栽培面積：3.8ha、土壌：花崗岩が風化してできた砂質土壌、醸造：天然酵母を用いて容量500Lのフレンチオーク樽で発酵後、澱と共に樽で8ヶ月熟成。 RAFAEL PALACIOS AS SORTES ラファエル・パラシオス アス・ソルテス 生産地：スペイン ガリシア地方 原産地呼称：DO. It's perfumed, elegant and harmonious, with ripeness, elegance and freshness, with 14% alcohol and superb acidity that make it balanced and lifted up. It comes from six small vineyards ("sorte" locally) planted at the end of the 1970s and 1980s on the north face of the Bibei Valley at 680 meters above sea level on sandy granite soils that give the wine finesse and elegance. It fermented in 500-liter French oak barrels with indigenous yeasts and matured in those barrels with the fine lees for eight months. There's a sense of purity and precision that I like very much, while the texture has very fine granularity. It's very tasty and clean. 23,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024. Rafael "Rafa" Palacios is ecstatic about the quality of his 2023s. He said, "The 2023 vintage corresponds to a typically cool year, which is evident in the quality of the wines. There was good aromatic and phenolic ripeness due to the year, which had more rain than 2024 and milder summer temperatures-it's enhanced by the acidic framework or skeleton of the vintage, which makes it very complete and elegant, one of the best, if not the best, of the last decade." As for 2024, from which I already tasted the entry-level Louro, it "is a slightly more open and accessible vintage, not as vertical as the 2023. For me, it's a more immediate, opulent and flavorful year. The slightly less rain during the season and the higher average temperatures led to a wine with a different profile." It opens with gentle primary aromas of pear and linden blossom, intertwined with soft herbal notes and a hint of anise, all set against a delicate backdrop of oak, where the foudre adds nuance. Sleek, supple and marked by elegance and poise, the palate is intense yet slightly compact, with a fine talc-like texture on the finish.
