ジュヴレ・シャンベルタンを代表する特級畑「シャンベルタン・クロ・ド・ベーズ」

1731年創業、1775年にヴォルネーのカイユレ畑、タイユピエ畑などを取得しワイン造りを開始しました。1820年に、15世紀の要塞であるシャトー ド ボーヌを取得し瓶熟庫として利用しており、現在も19世紀のワイン約3000本が眠っています。

1995年、シャンパーニュの老舗アンリオ家の故ジョゼフ アンリオがオーナーになると、ワイン造りの全工程において徹底した品質改革が行われました。自社畑ブドウから造られるドメーヌワインと買いブドウからのネゴシアン部門がありますが、ドメーヌとしてのブシャールは、コート ドールに約130ha(うちグランクリュ12ha、プルミエクリュ74ha)におよぶ優れた畑を所有するコート ドール最大のドメーヌです。

「シャンベルタン・クロ・ド・ベーズ グラン・クリュ」は、ラヴォー渓谷のすぐ下、ジュヴレ・シャンベルタンを代表するグラン・クリュ。シャンベルタンより渓谷に近いので渓谷からの冷たい風がワインに繊細さを与えている。土壌は薄い表土に古い世代のウミユリ石灰岩が基盤になっている。見事に充実した果実味、ブルーベリー、ブラックベリー、カカオ等の香りが口中に長く続きます。

Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru showed a little more ripeness on the nose compared to its peers, suggesting a slightly later picking than other growers. With aeration it gains more and more clarity, offering scents of potpourri, chalk and orange blossom. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, the acidity well judged but very backward and clearly requiring several years to open up. Serious Clos de Beze for those with patience, this Bouchard ranks alongside more prestigious names and I bet is not as expensive. Chapeau. Tasted September 2017.

So aromatic with loads of perfumed floral character. Hints of cedar and sandalwood. Medium-bodied, dense and wonderfully textured with a polished, velvety mouthfeel. Chocolate and orange-peel undertones. Very delicate yet powerful. Delicious now. Why wait?
