1829年に設立された名門シャンパーニュ・メゾン、ボランジェ。本拠地であるアイ村にて、創業時から変わらぬ厳格な基準によって造られるボランジェのシャンパーニュは、上質なピノ・ノワールを活かした、複雑なアロマ溢れるふくよかな仕上がりで、他とは一線を画す独自のスタイルを確立しています。

その高い品質は世界で認められており、1884年には英国王室御用達を拝命。またボランジェのシャンパーニュは、名作映画「007」シリーズに度々登場しており、主人公ジェームス・ボンド愛飲のシャンパーニュとしても有名です。一貫して妥協のない高品質な造りにより生み出される、格調高いシャンパーニュは、多くの人々を魅了する存在であり続けています。

「ロゼ ブリュットNV」は、ボランジェのスタイルを表すスペシャル・キュヴェをベースに、アイとベルズネイのグラン・クリュの畑で収穫された、ピノ・ノワールのみで造った赤ワインを5～6%ほど加えて造るロゼ・シャンパーニュです。赤ワイン醸造のノウハウと、その赤ワインをスペシャル・キュヴェにブレンドする素晴らしい技。錬金術のような高い技術から生み出されています。

スペシャル・キュヴェの赤褐色のきらめきと赤ワインの鮮やかな深み。香りは、赤い果実、スグリ、チェリー、キイチゴ、ラズベリーの香り。スパイシーが特徴なスペシャルキュヴェを喚起させます。口の中で、ボランジェ・ロゼは、スペシャルキュヴェと同じ系列のワインですが、タンニンがより感じられ、ブランドに加えられている赤ワインを思い出させます。野生の赤い果実の香りが感じられます。

Deep red-berry nose, plus some nectarine, spice and candied-orange notes. Powerful and fresh, the hint of tannin from the red-wine component of the blend neatly balanced by the creaminess. Excellent textural complexity, then a long, delicately spicy and mineral finish. Disgorged in June 2021. Drink now.

Disgorged in May 2021, the latest release of Bollinger's NV Brut Ros? is vert pretty, offering up aromas of pear, orange oil and plum, mingled with hints of fresh bread, dried white flowers and spices. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and elegantly vinous, it's attractively balanced, with fine depth at the core, lively acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse. This is deceptively giving and charming out of the gates, but I suspect it will put on more weight with additional age on cork.

Sappy and expansive, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of toasty lees.
