≪ライアン≫ 1998年（9.4エーカー）と2001年（3.7エーカー）に植樹された5番目の畑。一番高い所で約750mの西向きの畑。他の畑よりもより密集して植樹しています。豊かなミネラル感を兼ね備えた輝きのある活き活きとしたワインが造られます。2002年にリリース。 ≪カレラについて≫ ブルゴーニュワインの不思議な力に引き込まれた創業者のジョシュ・ジェンセンは1969年よりDRC（ロマネ・コンティのワイナリー）でスタッフとして当時のセラー責任者アンドレ・ノブレの元で働き、「ぶどうにほとんど手をかけない自然なワイン造り」に魅せられ、「アメリカで最高のピノ・ノワールを造る」という目標を掲げ、長い長い土壌探しの旅の果てにカリフォルニア、マウントハーランにてワイン造りを開始。今ではカリフォルニアのロマネ・コンティと称され、世界中で愛されるワインを造り続けています。

Easily one of the most impressive Pinot Noirs I’ve tasted from California, this ethereally textured, tannic effort should be given 3-4 years of bottle age and then consumed over the following decade or more. Drink 2016-2026. Open, voluptuous and sexy efforts, these all benefitted from substantial air time and gained richness and depth over the evening. Tasting date: June 2015 Drinking window: 2016 - 2033 The 2013 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is bright, fresh and aromatic, with lovely precision and energy. This is one of the lighter, more perfumed vintages of the Jensen in recent memory. Crushed flowers and sweet red berries abound on the beautifully knit finish. Even though the 2013 is a bit on the lighter side, the 100% whole clusters are totally integrated. Above all else, the 2013 speaks to grace. Josh Jensen adds that total rainfall for 2013 was just 4 inches versus the 15-18 that was normal in what he jokingly refers to as "the last century." This is a surprisingly delicate wine, especially considering the drought conditions.

Tasting date: June 2015 Drinking window: 2015 - 2026 Calera's 2011 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is showing beautifully today. Intensely aromatic and light on its feet, the 2011 is all finesse. Sweet herbs, rose petals, hard candy, mint and spices form a super-appealing fabric of aromas and flavors. Today, the 2011 Jensen is gracious, light on its feet and absolutely impeccable in its balance. There is a lot to like here, that is for sure. Just beginning to show the first signs of aromatic development, the 2011 should continue to drink beautifully for another decade-plus. The 2011 has really come together over the last few years. Winemaker Mike Waller adds that the lessons of 2010 made 2011 less of a shock, and that in the end the growing season turned out to be quite normal, but with everything pushed back a month. Medium-bodied, layered and seamless, it’s an elegant and silky example of this cuvee to drink over the coming decade or more. These latest releases from Calera are rock-solid across the board, and looking at the 2011 Pinot Noirs specifically, they show the best of the cooler vintage and are gorgeous wines. Starting with the two Chardonnays, these are both outstanding whites that represent serious value. Moving to the 2011s, these are beautiful wines across the board and show perfumed, fresh and lively profiles.
