Unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis and plums mingled with notions of cigar wrapper, sweet loamy soil and violets, it's full-bodied, velvety and layered, with superb concentration, lively acids and rich, powdery tannins. Perfumed and resonant, this is a profound young Pauillac that bears more of a resemblance to its neighbor Ch?teau Latour than to Pichon Lalande this year. Pichon Baron was one of the great deals of the en primeur campaign, and readers who purchased futures are to be congratulated on their foresight. The numbers speak for themselves: until 2000, Pichon-Longueville Baron produced some 350,000 bottles per year; since 2001, that figure has fallen to 160,000. Managing director Christian Seely's first decision on arriving at the property was to reduce production, focusing the grand vin on Cabernet Sauvignon growing on the deep gravel terraces opposite Ch?teau Latour that have always been the heart of this historic estate and which were the source of the great duo of 1989 and 1990 before being joined by other holdings after a series of acquisitions in the early 1990s. The results speak for themselves in the form of a series of excellent vintages, and things improved further with the construction of a new barrel cellar in 2006, permitting better temperature control and more precision during ?levage. In style, Pichon Baron these days has more in common stylistically with the depth and structure of Latour than it does with the perfumed sensuality of its sibling, Pichon Lalande; and in quality, it's clearly one of contemporary Bordeaux's greatest wines. It's hard to know whether 2010, 2016 or 2019 will emerge as the best Pichon Baron of the decade?and of Seely's tenure up to the time of writing?but what is certain is that the 2019 is a striking wine that any Bordeaux lover would want to have in their cellar. It will spend 18 months in a mix of new and used barrels. Today, Leoville Barton is decidedly virile, imposing and in need of cellaring. It is also hugely impressive. Leoville Barton is one of the first Bordeaux I tasted, many years ago.     ナパのシュレーダーが手掛けるソノマのプレミアムワインで、フォートロスというソノマコーストで 今最も評価の高い地区の自社畑で造られます。・日本初輸入となります。 このプロジェクトが始まった理由はなんといっても、大きな可能性を秘めた「ボアズ・ヴュー」 と 名付けたソノマ・コーストの16haの畑を2007年に取得したことから始まります。 現在のオーナーはフレッド＆キャロル・シュレイダー夫妻とデヴィッド＆ジュディ・ステイナー夫妻。 シュレイダー・セラーズの傘下では無く単独のワイナリーとなっています。 冷たい海からの霧が届く遥か上に位置し、海岸から二つ目の起伏の穏やかな斜面にあります。 十分な日照量が確保出来ながら、海岸からの冷涼な風や空気が上がってきて畑を包みます。 夏の熱波にも、この冷たい空気が葡萄畑を十分に冷やす事ができる立地条件がもたらすものは、 非常に早い芽吹きから、収穫までの長く一定した気温の生育期間を確保出来、十分に熟し、 成熟した葡萄を収穫することができます。 土壌の構成は、ピノ・ノワールに最適と言われる細かい砂を含むゴールド・リッジ土壌に、 小石が含まれ水はけが非常に良い土壌です。一部の土壌には粘土質が混じる為、 そこには少量のシャルドネを植えています。 ヴィンテージ情報 2017 年は、ソノマ・コーストのピノ・ノワールとシャルドネにとって素晴 らしい年となりました。 この畑の特徴はやや内陸部に位置するので、夏の終わりに来たとても暑い数日間は大きなダメージに ならないことです。海からの入る冷たい風により朝はゆっくりと気温が上昇し、夜はすーっと気温を 下げてくれます。 畑において日較差（朝晩の気温差）が少なくなり、葡萄がゆっくりと成熟し、 優しく完熟していくことができます。結果として生き生きとした果実はボリューム感がたっぷりとありながら、 生育に強制されるところがない為、ピュアな果実、酸、ミネラル感がゆったりと備えられています。 この畑の特徴を余すところなく表現しており、更にリッチで芳醇な葡萄となっております。 凝縮感とリッチな味わいは目を見張るものあります。畑の独自性が現れ他と違った個性が顕著に表れています。 深紫を示し、驚くほどの濃さがあります。予想に反して、香りにはザクロやクランベリーの赤系果実の特徴が あり、加えてクローブ、リコリス、プロバンス・ハーブ、針葉 樹、ミントなどスパイシーなニュアンスが 軽やかに漂います。味わいにはホワイト・チョコレート のような濃厚さ、ココアのような凝縮感と シルキーな口当たり、様々な味わいの要素が複雑に絡み合い、しっかりとした骨格を形作っています。 はるか先まで続くような長い余韻を持ち、この地区らしい酸とミネラル感が全体を包んでいます。

Medium-bodied with jaw-dropping elegance, the palate is finely textured and yet built like a brick house with a super taut backbone and exquisitely knit acidity. The intense black and red fruit flavors are accented by layers of mineral and floral notions, finishing with incredible length and depth. Undeniably stunning. “I loved it!” winemaker Nick Gislason told me when I asked him for his thoughts on the 2018 vintage. “Everything is just really perfumey with a lot of verve and a lot of freshness. It’s a wholesome vintage, if that makes sense? The canopies were big and healthy; there was a lot of life in the vineyard. Medium-bodied and firmly textured by superbly ripe, grainy tannins, it has a fantastic core of intense, complex layers, finishing on an edifying mineral note. Wow! Jeb Dunnuck：100ポイント A perfect wine is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, composed of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, which is a classic blend from this incredible estate. Sporting a deep purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of ultra-pure creme de cassis, blueberries, camphor, scorched earth, and licorice, with subtle background oak, it hits the palate with a full-bodied, deep, powerful texture that carries sweet tannins and blockbuster length. With a stacked mid-palate, straight-up awesome purity of fruit, and a huge finish, it's as classic and brilliant as it gets. Reminding me of the 2013 with its pure yet backward style, give bottles 4-5 years of bottle age and it will keep for 3-4 decades.
