Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with burning embers, pencil shavings, violets and smoked black tea, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a layered, elegantly muscular profile, its brooding core of fruit framed by a generous endowment of powdery tannin that tempers the ripeness of the vintage. The oak is wonderfully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a cashmere texture and lavish new oak that is perfectly knitted to the filigree tannins. Very precise and very persistent on the finish, this fans out gloriously, Jean-Philippe Delmas conjured a sensational La Mission this year. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals a gorgeous satiny texture with amazing citrus and tropical fruit intensity and a seriously racy backbone carrying the layers to a very long, impactful finish. Give this a few more years to really flaunt its stuff, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this warrants the full three-digits. Bravo! At Chateau Haut-Brion and neighboring La Mission Haut-Brion, only about one hectare out of around 80 hectares of vineyards was damaged by frost in 2017. It seemed that in the areas where there was a little wind, there was no frost. Budbreak was on March 13-not so early for this warm little pocket of vineyards close to the city-but the evolution of the vines was certainly faster than usual for the rest of the spring. It was a very dry, warm spring with even flowering. At the end of June, there was some rain to quench the parched vines, then July was a little cooler, according to Jean-Philippe Delmas. By mid-September, after the whites had already come in, the rains became an issue. The Merlot was almost all in before the rain, but the Cabernet Franc was affected and not much was used this year. Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested after the rains. Overall yields averaged out at a very respectable 49.6 hectoliters per hectare. While the reds are incredibly impressive at both properties in 2017, I have to confess that I was completely blown away by the caliber of the whites. WOW! 一級シャトー「オー・ブリオン」が造る、グラーヴ地方で最上の白ワイン！ オー・ブリオンは数世紀に渡る歴史を持つ由緒正しきシャトー。1533年にジャン・ド・ポンタックによって開かれたオー・ブリオンの畑は、1855年のメドック最高位の格付けに選ばれたシャトーで最古のテロワールを誇ります。ポンタック家以降、4つのファミリーを中心に幾世紀にも渡って受け継がれ、1935年にアメリカの財界人、クラレンス・ディロン氏が買い取り、現在は、ディロン氏の熱い意思をルクセンブルグ大公国ロベール皇太子殿下が受け継いでいます。 シャトー・オーブリオンは、メルロがカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンより多くなるアッサンブラージュも独特のものです。またボルドーで最初に発酵槽にステンレスタンクを用いたことでも分かるように、技術革新に積極的なシャトーとしても有名です。パーカーからは「豊かな香りとエレガントさではオー・ブリオンの右に出るものはいない。この1級シャトーは世界でもっともエレガントでアロマの複雑なワインを作っている。1980年代初め以降、オー・ブリオンほどの一貫性と輝かしい品質を示すワインは他にない。」と評されております。 「シャトー・オー・ブリオン・ブラン」の畑は、何とわずか2.87haしかありません。土壌については、表面は砂礫と小石質、基底部は若干の粘土含む砂質であり、最上のテロワールで育まれた完熟ブドウを使用しています。厳選されたブドウから生れた繊細かつ複雑な味わいです。 醸造においては、 セミヨンとソーヴィニヨン・ブランが約半分ずつ、ヴィンテージによっては微量のソーヴィニヨン・グリを入れるという独自のアッサンブラージュを実施。熟成はオーク樽で9～12ヵ月間行います。年間生産量はたった450～650ケース程。その稀少性と他にはない独特のスタイルで、他のボルドーの白ワインとは一線を画しています。 ■テイスティング・ノート■ シャトー・オー・ブリオンの白は、マンゴーのような複雑な香りを持つ。マンゴー、ライチ、パイナップル、バラの花びら、ペッパーの香り。ソーヴィニヨンを存分に表現しています。口に含むと、ふくよかでフルーティな味わいが広がります。そして、幅の広い、太いワインの心地よさへと進化していくのです。 ■2015年ヴィンテージ情報■ 2015年は、気象統計開始以来、我が国の領土で最も暖かく、最も晴れた年となったようです。8月の奇跡的な雨まで、長く暑い乾燥した時期が続き、ブドウの花はよく咲いた。この恵みの雨のおかげで、植物はブドウを完璧に成熟させることができたのだ。9月は晴天に恵まれ、収穫が始まりました。この理想的な天候のおかげで、すべてのブドウ品種の最適な状態を穏やかに待つことができました。2015年がボルドーの偉大なヴィンテージの系譜に連なることを可能にする、すべての条件が揃ったのです。 CHATEAU HAUT BRION BLANC シャトー・オー・ブリオン・ブラン 生産地：フランス ボルドー ペサック・レオニャン 原産地呼称：AOC. The medium to full-bodied palate contributes a compelling steeliness to all those incredible layers, plus a fantastic frame of freshness, finishing with multifaceted mineral and citrus accents. The many tightly wound nuances here as well as the built-like-a-brick-house structure promise to greatly reward the patient over the next 25+ years. Drink now. vinous：96 ポイント 96 Drinking Window 2021 - 2040 From: Finally: Bordeaux 2015 In Bottle (Jul 2019) The 2015 Haut-Brion Blanc does not quite deliver the same complexity as the Domaine de Chevalier Blanc or the La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, but it gradually opens to reveal attractive peach skin, marzipan and orange pith scents that feel pure and clean. The fresh, crisp palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, supremely well integrated oak and a persistent orange zest and apricot-tinged finish. Medium-bodied, the palate has fantastic elegance and depth, with layer upon layer of fragrant citrus and stone fruit-inspired flavors and a racy backbone, finishing with epic length. ジェームスサックリング：96-97 ポイント Layered with a round and rich texture and body. Full and flavorful. Lots of dried-apple and pineapple character. Very long finish. Exotic and ripe. We will see which is better. Ample, full-bodied and rich, the Blanc speaks with a sense of regal sophistication. Absolutely nothing is out of place. There is plenty of freshness, but the Blanc is above all else a vertical white built on poise. Today, the 2016 shows quite a bit of youthful exuberance, but time in bottle should help temper some of that. Antonio Galloni. Tasting date: December 2018
