      レオヴィル三兄弟とも呼ばれるグラン・クリュ第2級のシャトー。 メドック格付け2級。ポワフェレ男爵がラス カーズ家との婚姻により取得し、この名が付きました。レオヴィル三兄弟と呼ばれ、格付けシャトーの中でも人気の高いワインです。80haを所有し、3つのレオヴィルの中でも特に多様な土壌に恵まれています。他二つにくらべメルロの比率が高く、その分早くから楽しめる傾向があります。 シャトー・レオヴィルの歴史は1638年まで遡ります。いく度の遺産分割・相続をへて、1840年現在のレオヴィル・ポワフェレが誕生。1855年にはメドックのワインを対象とした格付が作成され、ポワフェレは栄えある第2級の認定を受けました。ほまれ高きアペラシオン・サンジュリアンに位置し、多様な礫質のテロワールを有するそのブドウ畑からは、芳醇かつ複雑な味わいのワインが生まれます。1920年、現オーナーであるキュヴリエ家がシャトー・レオヴィル・ポワフェレ(58ヘクタール)およびシャトー・ムーラン・リッシュ(22ヘクタール)の所有権を取得しました。ポワフェレの畑は現在80haに広がっています。しなやかなタンニンをふくみ、若い段階から親しみやすく、サンジュリアン特有のバランスとエレガンスは健在です。 豊かなブーケ、バランスのとれた味わいが評判で特に2019ヴィンテージは華やかな果実味が印象的です。夏が非常に暑く乾燥していた年の特徴を反映し、凝縮した果実味が印象的。口当たりはなめらかで洗練された印象があり、口に含むと多様な果物の香り、味わいが広がります。 CHATEAU LEOVILLE POYFERRE シャトー・レオヴィル・ポワフェレ 生産地：フランス ボルドー サン・ジュリアン 原産地呼称：AOC. Bright red cherry/plum fruit, blood orange, mint, spice and menthol fill out the layers with effortless grace. In some tastings, the 2019 has come across as quite powerful, while in other moments it shows greater finesse. Either way, the 2019 is positively stunning. Full-bodied, velvety and polished, it's broad and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, ripe tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a long, precise finish. Invariably the most sumptuous of the three Leovilles, featuring some 35% Merlot, the 2019 is a terrific effort that will offer a wide drinking window. With some 80 hectares under vine, Leoville Poyferre's parcels are inter-fingered with those belonging to the Delon and Barton families by the river and on the plateau of Saint-Julien. The soils are cultivated less frequently and less deeply these days, and conversion to organic methods is gradually being rolled out, parcel by parcel, some being easier to farm this way than others. Winemaking features a five- to eight-day cold soak, followed by comparatively long macerations, and maturation is in 80% new oak, with lots destined for new barrels completing their malolactic fermentation in barrel. Combined with an elevated percentage of Merlot in the vineyards (though the tendency here, as elsewhere, is to replant with more Cabernet Sauvignon), this delivers the richest, fleshiest, most flamboyant of the three Leoville estates, but while it's generally the most open out of the gates of the three, that hasn't come at the expense of longevity. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis and plums mingled with notions of cigar wrapper, sweet loamy soil and violets, it's full-bodied, velvety and layered, with superb concentration, lively acids and rich, powdery tannins. Perfumed and resonant, this is a profound young Pauillac that bears more of a resemblance to its neighbor Ch?teau Latour than to Pichon Lalande this year. Pichon Baron was one of the great deals of the en primeur campaign, and readers who purchased futures are to be congratulated on their foresight. The numbers speak for themselves: until 2000, Pichon-Longueville Baron produced some 350,000 bottles per year; since 2001, that figure has fallen to 160,000. Managing director Christian Seely's first decision on arriving at the property was to reduce production, focusing the grand vin on Cabernet Sauvignon growing on the deep gravel terraces opposite Ch?teau Latour that have always been the heart of this historic estate and which were the source of the great duo of 1989 and 1990 before being joined by other holdings after a series of acquisitions in the early 1990s. The results speak for themselves in the form of a series of excellent vintages, and things improved further with the construction of a new barrel cellar in 2006, permitting better temperature control and more precision during ?levage. In style, Pichon Baron these days has more in common stylistically with the depth and structure of Latour than it does with the perfumed sensuality of its sibling, Pichon Lalande; and in quality, it's clearly one of contemporary Bordeaux's greatest wines. It's hard to know whether 2010, 2016 or 2019 will emerge as the best Pichon Baron of the decade?and of Seely's tenure up to the time of writing?but what is certain is that the 2019 is a striking wine that any Bordeaux lover would want to have in their cellar. It will spend 18 months in a mix of new and used barrels. Classic Barton notes of cassis, scorched earth, burning embers, new leather, and violets emerge from the glass, and this beauty is full-bodied, massively concentrated, and structured on the palate, yet it has a beautiful elegance as well as a plushness in its texture. Nevertheless, it's not for those seeking instant gratification and is going to need 10-15 years of bottle age to hit maturity. It reminds me of the 1990 and is a great, great wine in the making. Today, Leoville Barton is decidedly virile, imposing and in need of cellaring. It is also hugely impressive. Leoville Barton is one of the first Bordeaux I tasted, many years ago.       ナパのシュレーダーが手掛けるソノマのプレミアムワインで、フォートロスというソノマコーストで 今最も評価の高い地区の自社畑で造られます。・日本初輸入となります。 このプロジェクトが始まった理由はなんといっても、大きな可能性を秘めた「ボアズ・ヴュー」 と 名付けたソノマ・コーストの16haの畑を2007年に取得したことから始まります。 現在のオーナーはフレッド＆キャロル・シュレイダー夫妻とデヴィッド＆ジュディ・ステイナー夫妻。 シュレイダー・セラーズの傘下では無く単独のワイナリーとなっています。 冷たい海からの霧が届く遥か上に位置し、海岸から二つ目の起伏の穏やかな斜面にあります。 十分な日照量が確保出来ながら、海岸からの冷涼な風や空気が上がってきて畑を包みます。 夏の熱波にも、この冷たい空気が葡萄畑を十分に冷やす事ができる立地条件がもたらすものは、 非常に早い芽吹きから、収穫までの長く一定した気温の生育期間を確保出来、十分に熟し、 成熟した葡萄を収穫することができます。 土壌の構成は、ピノ・ノワールに最適と言われる細かい砂を含むゴールド・リッジ土壌に、 小石が含まれ水はけが非常に良い土壌です。一部の土壌には粘土質が混じる為、 そこには少量のシャルドネを植えています。 ヴィンテージ情報 2017 年は、ソノマ・コーストのピノ・ノワールとシャルドネにとって素晴 らしい年となりました。 この畑の特徴はやや内陸部に位置するので、夏の終わりに来たとても暑い数日間は大きなダメージに ならないことです。海からの入る冷たい風により朝はゆっくりと気温が上昇し、夜はすーっと気温を 下げてくれます。 畑において日較差（朝晩の気温差）が少なくなり、葡萄がゆっくりと成熟し、 優しく完熟していくことができます。結果として生き生きとした果実はボリューム感がたっぷりとありながら、 生育に強制されるところがない為、ピュアな果実、酸、ミネラル感がゆったりと備えられています。 この畑の特徴を余すところなく表現しており、更にリッチで芳醇な葡萄となっております。 凝縮感とリッチな味わいは目を見張るものあります。畑の独自性が現れ他と違った個性が顕著に表れています。 深紫を示し、驚くほどの濃さがあります。予想に反して、香りにはザクロやクランベリーの赤系果実の特徴が あり、加えてクローブ、リコリス、プロバンス・ハーブ、針葉 樹、ミントなどスパイシーなニュアンスが 軽やかに漂います。味わいにはホワイト・チョコレート のような濃厚さ、ココアのような凝縮感と シルキーな口当たり、様々な味わいの要素が複雑に絡み合い、しっかりとした骨格を形作っています。 はるか先まで続くような長い余韻を持ち、この地区らしい酸とミネラル感が全体を包んでいます。

Medium-bodied with jaw-dropping elegance, the palate is finely textured and yet built like a brick house with a super taut backbone and exquisitely knit acidity. The intense black and red fruit flavors are accented by layers of mineral and floral notions, finishing with incredible length and depth. Undeniably stunning. “I loved it!” winemaker Nick Gislason told me when I asked him for his thoughts on the 2018 vintage. “Everything is just really perfumey with a lot of verve and a lot of freshness. It’s a wholesome vintage, if that makes sense? The canopies were big and healthy; there was a lot of life in the vineyard. After 2017, it felt like the bloom that comes afterward.” He went on to say, "We made a little 2017 red. Only four barrels of the Cab! Ten barrels of The Flight. Only from grapes that came in before the fires?mainly Merlot and a couple of blocks of Cabernet." Whereas Screaming Eagle is mainly sourced from Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the western side of the estate, there is one plot of old Merlot (1980s plantings) on the eastern side of the vineyard that continually makes the backbone of this Second Flight/The Flight. This is planted on very gravelly, well-drained soils. Gislason explained, “The Cabernet Sauvignon for The Flight is always about being fresh, light and perfumey, without the firmer tannins that Cabernet can sometimes give. There is a ‘fresh’ end of the property that this tends to come from. There is some other Merlot on the other side of the property that doesn’t have the acidity, perfume or brightness we’re looking for.
