Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's layered and perfumed, with bright acids, beautifully refined tannins and a long, penetrating finish. vinous：(93-95) ポイント (93-95) pts Domaine Dugat-Py 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy Red wine from France Drinking window: 2025 - 2045 The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru, matured in two-thirds new oak and 50% whole bunch, was more reduced than the Champeaux when I tasted it from barrel. There appears to be a higher proportion of red fruit on the nose here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and slightly grainy in texture, offering clementine and marmalade-infused black cherry and wild strawberry fruit. Tangy and full of energy on the finish. This is another great Premier Cru from Loic Dugat-Py. Neal Martin. Tasting date: October 2020

GEVREY CHAMBERTIN ぶどう品種：ピノ・ノワール 100% 味わい：赤ワイン 辛口 ミディアムボディ ワインアドヴォケイト：93-95+ ポイント Reviewed by William Kelley Issue Date 15th Jan 2021 Source January 2021 Week 2, The Wine Advocate I was surprised when Lo?c Dugat-Py opted to present his 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle after the domaine's Lavaux Saint-Jacques; but when I tasted the wine, I immediately understood his decision. Offering up an incipiently complex bouquet of wild berries, raspberries, blood orange and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, built around velvety tannins and lively acids. Standing out for its completeness, energy and length, this is the finest Petite Chapelle I've ever tasted from the domaine, and I can't wait to revisit it in bottle. Loic Dugat-Py was once again one of the earliest to pick in the Cote de Nuits, beginning his harvest with Charmes-Chambertin on September 9 with a team of fully 60 in the vineyards. He characterizes 2019 as "very gourmand" and, like me, finds it hard to choose between his 2018s--which number among the most successful wines of that uneven vintage and which we revisited together from bottle--and their younger siblings, suggesting that 2019 is more charming and immediate but that 2018 may prove the more serious over the long haul. Time will tell, but what is clear is that this domaine simply doesn't miss these days. Happily, with the addition of several Beaune premiers crus, the more accessible--both financially and structurally--part of Domaine Dugat-Py's range has expanded, and these cuvees will offer an excellent introduction to what is now going on at this address. It bears repeating that the Dugat-Py style has appreciably evolved in the last few years: Low yields, old vines and small-berried massal selections mean that these are inevitably deep, concentrated and age-worthy wines; but extraction isn't pushed so far as it once was, and--as I wrote last year--Loic has also quietly reduced the percentage of new oak used here. Where until recently 100% new was the order of the day from all premiers and grands crus-and sometimes for communal appellations too--that has been much reduced. The choice of forests, seasoning and toast has been refined too, and clearly Dugat-Py has never been so well served by Tonnellerie Fran?ois Freres as they are today. So, I once again encourage readers to put outdated stereotypes of excessive oak and over-extraction to one side and try what is being produced today, as these are bottles that number among the finest that contemporary Burgundy has to offer. ワインアドヴォケイト：92-94 ポイント Neal Martin. Tasting date: October 2020 Drinking window: 2024 - 2043 The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru was picked on the first day of harvest, along with the Charmes-Chambertin and Mazoyeres. Containing 50% whole bunch, it is very perfumed on the nose, the most floral of Dugat-Py’s Premier Crus, but thankfully the gushing violet and peony aromas do not obscure the fruit expression. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, more understated than I anticipated after the aromatics. This ends up a streamlined Petite Chapelle of wonderful delineation and salinity (though maybe the Champeaux has a little more complexity overall at this early juncture). Not so Petite!

Deep, full-bodied and multidimensional, it's layered and concentrated, with lively acids, immense concentration and a long, penetrating finish. Built to age, it will demand patience.

While still youthful, it has beautiful complexity and depth on the palate, and certainly offers plenty of pleasure. Dark fruits, spice, cured meats, truffle and licorice all flow nicely to a full-bodied, concentrated, lively feel on the palate. It has bright acidity and fine tannin, and while it will never have the sheer decadence of a bigger year, it shines for its complexity, elegance and length. VINOUS：97 ポイント Saturated ruby. Remarkably deep nose combines cherry, raspberry, licorice, smoked meat and mineral notes, all lifted by an intense floral quality. A stunning example of freshness and precision married to power, with deep cassis, bitter cherry and candied licorice flavors enlivened by zesty minerality and framed by firm but harmonious tannins. "This is not about extraction," notes Perrin. The endless finish echoes the mineral and floral tones, showing a persistent lavender note. This was not yet bottled when I tasted it. Scents of violets, tree bark, truffle, purple raspberries and blackberries all appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich, dense and velvety, and the finish shows enormous richness and length. Breathtaking stuff. Always one of the highlights of my visits in Chateaneuf du Pape, the cellars at Beaucastel were a bit dusty when I arrived, as the long-awaited expansion had just gotten underway. Built using the latest practices in sustainability and conservation, it's expected to be completed in 2024. The 2021 Syrah had just been picked, and the expectation was that the Grenache would be harvested beginning the following day. Something worth noting, although the family doesn't actively promote it, is that Beaucastel's farming has been certified organic since 1966, and the vineyards have been farmed along biodynamic principles since 1974 (although not certified as such). Marc Perrin and his cousin Cesar Perrin, who conducted the tasting, are high on the prospects for 2020, which they compare to 2016. "It was a beautiful summer, all the way through October," said Cesar. "What I really like is the finesse of it," said Marc. "With global warming, Mourvedre is performing better and better here." Their opinions aside, don't discount the bottled 2019s, which are also excellent. The 2019 Hommage a Jacques Perrin is simply stupendous, and not to be missed by serious collectors. Full-bodied, massive and layered on the palate, with awesome purity and freshness, it delivers incredible aromatics of beef blood, truffle, graphite, iron and black and blue fruits. Given all of the fruit and texture, you almost have to hunt for the structure here, but trust me, it’s there. The tasting at Beaucastel took place a 9 a.m., and even then, this is one wine I found impossible to spit. Powerful aromas of cherry liqueur, licorice pastille and pungent flowers, with exotic Indian spice and mocha overtones. Dense, sweet and broad, offering intense black and blue fruit preserve, violet and spicecake flavors enlivened by juicy acidity. Fine-grained tannins build slowly through the clinging, appealingly sweet finish, which shows outstanding clarity and persistence and lingering florality.
