ヴォーヌ・ロマネに本拠地を置く、ブドウ本来の魅力を引き出すワイン造り続ける名門ドメーヌが造る1本！

ヴォーヌ・ロマネ村に本拠地を置き、コート・ドールを代表するドメーヌの１つ、メオ・カミュゼ。ブルゴーニュの神様、故アンリ・ジャイエ氏の後継者とも言われる生産者として、世界中のブルゴーニュ愛好家に絶大な人気を誇っています。メオ・カミュゼは、ワインの神様と呼ばれているアンリ・ジャイエ氏がコンサルタントを務めていたことでも有名。

1989年から醸造を担当するジャン＝ニコラ・メオ氏はアンリ・ジャイエ氏に直接指導を受けた数少ない人物のひとりで、その指導のおかげで、風味の深さや果実味のインパクト等、メオ・カミュゼの酒質は向上しました。現在も、ジャン＝ニコラ・メオ氏が経営を行い、畑の仕事は、以前から小作人として働いていたクリスチャン・フロワ氏がこれまでの経験を活かしたアドバイスをしながら行っています。

「ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュ 1er オー・ブド」 は、レ・ダモードのちょうど真下に位置し、ヴォーヌ・ロマネの一級畑オー・マルコンソールとも地続きの畑です。地理的にもヴォーヌ・ロマネによく似たボディを持ち、濃厚で、力強い肉付きの素晴らしいワインが生れます。

■テクニカル情報■
収穫は全て手摘み。これまでアンリ・ジャイエ氏の醸造法に倣い、100%除梗を行っていましたが、2004年から全房発酵を試験的に導入。2011年以降、エシェゾーグラン・クリュレ・ルージュ・デュ・バ、ヴォーヌ・ロマネの1級畑、オー・クロ・パラントゥ、ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュのオー・ブドーには全房発酵したワインが、約15%ずつ含まれています。その結果、造りだされるワインは、これまでの果実味重視のスタイルから、より複雑味を備えエレガントなスタイルへと変化しつつあります。新樽の使用については、グラン・クリュとプルミエ・クリュは100%、その他のワインは約50%にて18ヵ月熟成。その後、ノンフィルターで瓶詰されます。

Another real success is the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots, a lovely wine bursting with notes of plums, wild berries, exotic spices, peonies and blood orange. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's elegantly fleshy, with lively acids, melting tannins and a penetrating finish.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru needed a lot of aeration before it finally graced me with its presence. There is no stem addition in this vintage as there has been in previous years. It has a very well-defined bouquet even though it feels "aloof" at the moment, presenting sous-bois-infused black fruit and traces of iodine. The palate is well balanced with a slightly lactic, licorice-tinged entry. A precocious Les Boudots in the making. There is firm structure, good grip and a countervailing sorbet-like zip on the finish. This has all the components of a very fine Nuits Saint-Georges, but it will require cellaring. - By Neal Martin on October 2020
